Notre Dame and partners to make major climate change announcement
WASHINGTON, April 15, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following is being released by the University of Notre Dame:
When: Thursday, April 18, 2013, noon (lunch will be served)
Where: First Amendment Room, National Press Club, 529 14th St. NW, 13th floor, Washington, D.C.
Scientists and researchers from the University of Notre Dame will join nonprofit and corporate partners at a press conference to announce an important advance in the Global Adaptation Index (GAIN), the world's leading index showing which countries are best prepared to deal with the droughts, super-storms, and other natural disasters that climate change can cause. "The era of climate change denial is over, the world is getting warmer, and numerous countries are not ready for the chaos that climate change will bring," said Ken Hersh, CEO and founder of NGP Energy Capital Management, the primary founding sponsor of the Global Adaptation Institute, the Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit that created GAIN. "GAIN highlights those countries that urgently need help adapting to a warmer world."
