NSTT Launches iDirect Evolution Network Over Africa and the Middle East

(VT Systems), today announced that Network Satellite Technology Trading (NSTT), a world-class provider of communication networking technology services, has launched a new VSAT service based on iDirect's Evolution platform covering Africa and the Middle East. The provider has purchased several iDirect Universal 5IF satellite hubs, along with Evolution X3 and X5 remote routers, so it can provide a wide coverage area to customers in the region. NSTT will also be running iDirect's latest Evolution software release, iDX 2.2, enabling it to maximize the efficiency and flexibility of its new VSAT service. iDirect is a world leader in satellite-based IP communications technology.

NSTT's Evolution service will deliver high-speed broadband over satellite to support a variety of customer applications including Internet, Voice over IP (VoIP) and VPN. The service will be offered over both Ku- and C-band across several satellites in Africa and the Middle East, expanding NSTT's existing coverage in these regions as well as in Asia. By expanding its services, NSTT can meet the growing demands of existing customers including telecom providers, broadcasters, financial institutions, oil and gas companies, governmental organizations, and military agencies.

By basing its new service on iDirect's Evolution platform, NSTT can offer a highly reliable service to customers while maximizing its space segment efficiency and capacity to add new customers or expand into new markets such as Afghanistan, Libya and Congo. Evolution has built-in features to help the provider guarantee high link uptime and protect its service level agreements. These include iDirect's advanced Group Quality of Service (GQoS) technology, which allows NSTT to intelligently allocate bandwidth by customer and even by application type. Further, it doesn't have to worry about link degradation during adverse weather thanks to Adaptive Coding and Modulation (ACM), which automatically adjusts signal strength to avoid rain or solar fade.
