NYA Seeks to Expand on Legacy of Service through an Agreement with Sports Facilities Management
A formal engagement is set to officially begin in June 2017
NEWTOWN, Conn., May 31, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- NYA Sports & Fitness Center, announced that Sports Facilities Management (SFM) based out of Clearwater, Florida will become the management firm tasked with providing strategic direction and daily oversight of the non-profit sports, fitness and recreation center in Newtown, CT.
Sports Facilities Management (SFM) will work closely with the NYA Board of Directors, led by Ms. Maggie Conway, and Founder, Mr. Peter D'Amico, a distinguished local businessman and entrepreneur, who founded the Newtown Youth Academy (NYA) in 2008, establishing it as a successful non-profit organization. Committed to improving the health and well-being of athletes and fitness enthusiasts of all ages, NYA continues to play an important role in serving both Newtown and the surrounding communities.

NYA's 90,000 square foot building, located on the Fairfield Hill campus, consists of a fitness center that offers members access to state-of-the-art cardio and strength equipment, free weights, personal training and custom group fitness programs. It also includes a large indoor synthetic turf field, multiple courts for basketball, volleyball and tennis with 1/12-mile track. The facility is used year-round for indoor leagues, camps, clinics and tournaments in soccer, basketball, baseball, softball, lacrosse, field hockey, football, volleyball, tennis, and more. There are also multi-purpose spaces that are used for birthday parties and corporate business events.
NYA Sports & Fitness has a history of going above and beyond what is expected — quietly opening their doors to pro-actively collaborate with a variety of strategic partners on many innovative community programs, events and social causes.
