NYC Rehab Center Consortium Centers for Specialty Care Group Sponsors Major Charity Events and Highlights Its 5-star Rating

NEW YORK, June 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Centers for Specialty Care Group, a care-giving consortium of nursing homes in New York and New Jersey, has proven its commitment to community development by sponsoring the Annual North Rockland Community 3-mile Run/Walk. This top-tier sponsorship was instrumental in raising funds for the 10th Annual North Rockland Community 3-mile Run/Walk, which took place on June 2, 2013 at Bowline Point Park. All proceeds of the event will go to Luke Colluzzi, Carmello Farrior, and Michell Ramos-Baez, and their families to help with rising medical expenses.

Northern Riverview is one of the consortium's northern New York centers, a group which also includes the Northern Metropolitan and Northern Manor centers. Staffed by exceptionally skilled nurses, each of these three centers is a home away from home offering respite stays, short-term rehabilitation, and many more quality healthcare services.

Northern Metropolitan has serviced the local community since its establishment in 1981 in Monsey, NY, and was recently recognized for its unwavering commitment to quality care when U.S. News awarded the healthcare center a 5-star rating. The review examined data relating to health inspections, nurse staffing, quality measures, and fire safety, coming to the conclusion that Northern Metropolitan is successful in its continuous goal to provide excellent nursing home therapy. U.S. News found that the average time devoted to each resident by nurses was 2 hours and 26 minutes, well above the U.S. average of just 1 hour and 36 minutes.

Centers for Specialty Care Group has also donated to Le Tour de Simcha, which is due to take place July 1, 2013. Le Tour de Simcha is a sponsored cycle through the mountains of upstate New York in aid of children with cancer and other serious illnesses.
