Ocean House Management Today Announces The Debut Of Non-Profit Fund To Benefit Local Children And Families In Need

WATCH HILL, R.I., Nov. 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Ocean House Management (OHM) Collection, operators of the Relais & Châteaux Ocean House, Weekapaug Inn and Watch Hill Inn, in Westerly, Rhode Island today announced the debut of the Ocean House Fund for Charitable Giving, designed to raise funds to help children and families in need.

The Ocean House Fund for Charitable Giving is a donor advised fund administered in cooperation with the Rhode Island Foundation, a 501c3 organization, to focus on philanthropic efforts to support children, the disadvantaged, and foodways related causes in the New England area. 

Inspired by the generosity of OHM Founders Charles and Deborah Royce and their commitment to the community, OHM management and associates created this fund that strives to continue the support of worthy local community based organizations and have already funded the first $20,000 through their efforts since inception earlier this year.

The Fund will raise money through event programing, charity drives, and guest and employee involvement.  Donations and distribution of the Fund will be determined annually by a committee of employees from the Ocean House, Weekapaug Inn and Watch Hill Inn.

The first major initiative of the Ocean House Fund is the sale of a limited-edition holiday toy. The 2017 and first collectors' edition is named "Kevin," in honor of the longest tenured bellman at the acclaimed and Forbes Triple Five Star Ocean House in Watch Hill. The plush collectible is dressed in an Ocean House bellman uniform complete with logo buttons from the actual bellman coats worn by the resort team.  Future editions in coming years will be inspired by positions at sister properties, including the Weekapaug Inn and Watch Hill Inn.
