OCLC's new CONTENTdm helps libraries and other institutions expand the reach of unique collections

New modern digital management platform enables collections to be discovered, connected, and used by information seekers around the world

DUBLIN, Ohio, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- OCLC has introduced a new version of the CONTENTdm digital collection management platform that empowers libraries, archives, and museums to make their unique digital collections more visible, accessible, and connected.

For more than 20 years, CONTENTdm has been helping libraries share their unique digital collections online. The platform has been completely redesigned, in close collaboration with users, to meet digital collection management needs today and into the future. The new CONTENTdm is now available in the United States and will be available in other regions in the coming months.

The modern CONTENTdm platform streamlines collection management through browser-based administration, bulk workflows, OCR, and metadata tools. These capabilities help staff reduce repetitive work and process more materials with existing resources.

CONTENTdm also applies OCLC's metadata expertise through authority control, controlled vocabularies, linked data, and metadata remediation tools that help institutions create, maintain, and connect high-quality metadata across collections.
