Ogilvy Public Relations and Brand USA take home PRWeek Award for "Inviting the World to Discover America One Story at a Time"

NEW YORK, March 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Ogilvy Public Relations, a groundbreaking global communications firm, won Public Sector Campaign of the Year at Thursday's 17th annual PRWeek Awards for "Inviting the World to Discover America One Story at a Time" with Brand USA. The campaign boosted both the number of tourists and dollars spent, with nearly 2 million incremental visitors attributable to PR. They spent $221 billion. Additionally, Ogilvy PR was a finalist in the same category for "Second Open Enrollment 'I'm In'" with Covered California. The PRWeek Awards celebrate the work of corporate, agency, education and nonprofit teams.

Commenting on the Brand USA campaign, one judge said: "They did what they set out to do – and did it very well." Another saluted the campaign's "comprehensive approach to message placement through earned media in hard-to-reach places."

Ogilvy PR also was recognized as finalists in the following categories:

  • HEALTHCARE CAMPAIGN OF THE YEAR for "Helping Smokers 'Click to Quit' with Quitter's Circle" with the American Lung Association and Pfizer;
  • PUBLIC AFFAIRS CAMPAIGN OF THE YEAR and PUBLIC SECTOR CAMPAIGN OF THE YEAR for "Covered California Second Open Enrollment: 'I'm In'" with Covered California.
