Omaha Steaks to Sponsor James Beard Foundation Scholarships

OMAHA, Neb., April 1, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Omaha Steaks announced today that the company will once again sponsor five $3,000 culinary arts scholarships through the James Beard Foundation, an organization created to continue the legacy of iconic American chef, James Beard, who offered both help and encouragement to those pursuing culinary careers.

The scholarships are awarded annually to students pursuing many areas of culinary studies including cooking, baking, writing, nutrition, food studies, wine studies, and hospitality management. Students nationwide are invited to apply for the scholarships, with one scholarship designated for a student enrolled in the Metropolitan Community College Culinary Arts program in Omaha, Nebraska. Applications will be accepted through May 15, 2013.
