New offerings allow for greater flexibility with long-term care, qualified funds

INDIANAPOLIS, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- OneAmerica Financial today announced enhancements to its Asset Care product suite, providing individuals and families with greater flexibility when planning for future long-term care (LTC) needs while helping protect assets and preserve a financial legacy.

The updates include new benefit options within Asset Care and expanded capabilities for Annuity Funding Whole Life (AFWL), a solution designed to help eligible individuals use qualified retirement assets to fund linked-benefit long-term care protection.

OneAmerica Financial has added a new three-year Acceleration of Benefits (AOB) option for both individual and joint Asset Care policies. Previously, Asset Care products offered a two-year AOB option. Existing Continuation of Benefits (COB) options will continue to be available. The additional AOB option gives clients more flexibility when designing coverage and balancing long-term care benefits with legacy goals. In some scenarios, the design may allow a death benefit that equals or exceeds premiums paid, an important consideration for individuals who want both long-term care protection and value preservation for beneficiaries. The Asset Care AOB three-year feature will be available alongside current offerings to accommodate different coverage durations.

OneAmerica Financial also continues to lead the industry when it comes to options for individuals with qualified funds and expanded its AFWL offering, which allows eligible clients to use an annuity to gradually fund a whole life insurance policy with Asset Care long-term care benefits. For individuals asking whether an annuity can be used to fund a whole life policy, AFWL is designed specifically for that purpose, allowing qualified retirement assets to move methodically into a policy with long-term care features.

In addition to the organization's current 10-year annuity income rider, OneAmerica Financial is now adding a 5-year rider and a 20-year rider option. These riders can be paired with Asset Care long-term care enhancements to better match funding timelines and benefit preferences.

These new enhancements were developed in response to evolving consumer needs in the LTC space and a growing demand for more personalized planning choices.
