Online Video Contest Asks "What Do You Love About America?"

WASHINGTON, May 5, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- RevereAmerica.org, a grassroots organization with more than one million members, announced a national video contest today asking citizens to respond to the question "What do you love about America?"

The contest is designed to challenge Americans, regardless of age or experience, to use their freedom of expression and creativity to let others know specifically what America means to them as individuals and why our freedoms are so important.   The contest is also in response to the fact that at this time in history—in many parts of the world—people are making their voices heard in the name of democracy.  As Americans, we are guaranteed the freedoms for which they are fighting.  Revere America believes we shouldn't take our freedom for granted, and the contest provides a way to celebrate it.

Anyone age 16 and up is invited to participate in the contest by making a video, not to exceed 60 seconds, and submitting it online by August 4, 2011. Revere America wants to hear from individuals from every walk of life and every corner of the country.  Video submissions can be homegrown or Hollywood productions.  Additionally, there is $10,000 in prize money, including $5,000 for first place.  

Contest finalists will be selected by a panel of film industry and communications judges, and then those finalists' videos will be posted on Revere America's website.  The final winners will be determined by individual Americans who will vote on-line for the video they believe best represents what we should love about America and captures the nation's unique spirit and values.  For contest details and entry rules, go to RevereAmerica.org.
