Onslow Memorial Hospital Board Member Vanessa Ervin Named To American Hospital Association Board of Trustees
JACKSONVILLE, N.C., Aug. 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Onslow Memorial Hospital Authority board member Vanessa Ervin has been elected to serve on the American Hospital Association Board of Trustees.
The Board of Trustees is the highest policy-making body of the AHA and has ultimate authority for the governance and management of its direction and finances. Ervin will serve a three-year term on the AHA board and will chair its Regional Policy Board 3, where she will oversee policy development for hospitals and healthcare systems in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Ervin is no stranger to hospital advocacy. She has served on the board of the North Carolina Hospital Association, including on its bylaws committee. Ervin received the North Carolina Hospital Association's 2015 Trustee Merit Award, given annually to recognize a trustee's unique contributions to the individual's institution and the healthcare field. Ervin is past chair of the Onslow Memorial Hospital Authority.
Professionally, Ervin is CEO of Carobell, Inc., a non-profit health care provider in Jacksonville which provides residential, medical and educational services to individuals with cognitive and intellectual disabilities. She is a long-time Rotary member and recently served as district governor for a 51-county region in North Carolina.
Ervin earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Mexico and a Master in Business Administration and a Master in Rehabilitation Administration from the University of San Francisco.
