OSLO, Norway, Nov. 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- OnTime Networks, a global leader for rugged, time synchronized Ethernet solutions for the aerospace and defense industry, announced today that it received a contract from a Norwegian Defense contractor to provide military Cloudberry OEMbedded CM-4018F10 OEM Gigabit Ethernet switch modules for use in remote weapon system (RWS). The CM-4018F8 Gigabit Ethernet switch module product falls under the OEMbedded product line, which was launched early 2017, to provide OEM embedded solutions. Under the contract, shipments are scheduled to begin in early 2018. The selection of the CM-4018F10 was influenced by OnTime Networks expertise for network time synchronization in accordance to the IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol (PTP) standard.
The CM-4018F10 Gigabit Ethernet switch modules, will provide IEEE 1588 PTP time synchronization support and going to be embedded by the equipment manufacturers, in a remote weapon system (RWS).
