These awards reflect the combined opinions of more than 5 million reviews submitted by verified OpenTable diners for more than 15,000 restaurants in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Winning restaurants, which include Belga Cafe in Washington, D.C., Cookshop in New York, and RESTAURANT at Sunset Marquis in West Hollywood, are scattered throughout 26 states and the nation's capital. The coastal states of California and New York have the greatest number of best restaurants for brunch, with 17 and 13, respectively. The South made a strong showing, with Florida claiming 8 winning restaurants and Georgia with 7 honorees. Texas and Washington, D.C. restaurants earned five places apiece, while Colorado, North Carolina, Virginia, and Washington each have four. Illinois and Pennsylvania each have three award winners, while Hawaii, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, and Missouri have two. Arizona, Delaware, Indiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Utah, and Wisconsin are also represented. Belgian, Creole, French, Mediterranean, and Mexican fare are featured; however, American cuisine handily dominates the list.

The Diners' Choice Awards for the Top 100 Best Brunch Restaurants are generated from more than 5 million reviews collected from verified OpenTable diners between April 1, 2012 and March 31, 2013. All restaurants with a minimum "overall" score and number of qualifying reviews were included for consideration. Qualifying restaurants were then scored and sorted according to the percentage of qualifying reviews for which "great for brunch" was selected as a special feature.
