MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md., Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Opus Consulting Partners, LLC ("Opus"), acting through Jacques Santucci, its president, has been appointed receiver for PharmaCann Maryland in April 2026.
PharmaCann is one of the largest privately held, vertically integrated cannabis companies in the United States. In Maryland, the company operates a cultivation and processing facility, as well as three retail dispensaries under the Verilife brand, supplying medical and adult-use consumers throughout Maryland since the start of Maryland's medical cannabis program.
The receivership was initiated at the request of Argent Institutional Trust Company in the matter captioned Argent Institutional Trust Company v. PharmaCann of MD, LLC, et al., Montgomery County, Maryland Circuit Court, No. C-15-CV-26-001937. Joshua Horn of Fox Rothschild, LLP has been appointed as counsel to Opus in connection with the receivership.
As Receiver, Opus Consulting is overseeing the day-to-day operations of PharmaCann, which have continued in the ordinary course of business and will continue to do so throughout the proceeding.
In its capacity as Receiver, Opus is charged with conducting the orderly sale of the assets of PharmaCann, including its licenses issued by the Maryland Cannabis Administration, subject to required court and regulatory approvals. To facilitate the sale process, Opus, through its counsel, requested and obtained court approval of bid procedures for anyone desiring to submit a bid and ultimately participate in an auction to determine who will purchase some or all of the assets of PharmaCann in MD, including its licenses.
This transaction offers an opportunity to acquire select licenses, assets, intellectual property, equipment, inventory, customer relationships, and other business assets through a structured bid and auction process. The offering may be attractive to strategic buyers seeking expansion, financial buyers looking for platform investments, or companies interested in acquiring specific assets to accelerate growth.
