ORANGE COUNTY, Calif., Oct. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Saddleback Memorial Medical Center and Orange Coast Memorial Medical again took top spots in the Best Hospital Category in the Orange County Register "Best of Orange County" competition that annually asks its readership to vote for their favorite products, services and places in Orange County. Saddleback Memorial and Orange Coast Memorial ranked the top two Best Hospitals—the second year Saddleback Memorial ranked first while Orange Coast Memorial moved from third to second place. The results of the top three vote-getters in each category are published in the Orange County Register's annual Best of Orange County magazine.

"We're extremely proud of our team and thank the Orange County community for recognizing our accomplishments and voting for us for a second consecutive year."
"We are honored to have been voted among the Best Hospitals for the second consecutive year," said Marcia Manker, CEO of Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center. "Every day, we work together as family to set a new standard of excellence for the delivery of compassionate and innovative health care to our local communities. Saddleback Memorial is continually honored for exceptional medical expertise that offers high quality, compassionate care for patients and families at every stage of their lives. It received Healthgrades 2015 America's 50 Best Hospitals, presented to only 1% of U.S. hospitals for consistent, sustained clinical performance, high quality care and superior patient outcomes for at least six years. It also received Becker's Healthcare Top U.S. Hospitals and American Heart Association Get with the Guidelines highest honor—Gold Plus for cardiac and stroke care. Its centers of excellence are renowned for prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer, heart disease, stroke, pulmonary disease, orthopedics and diabetes; and for leadership in emergency medicine, critical care medicine, breast health, outpatient rehabilitation, advanced imaging, women's health, geriatric care and surgery, including robotic-assisted procedures. The Women's Hospital at Saddleback Memorial Laguna Hills includes personalized obstetrics care, a highly regarded perinatal program and Level III neonatal intensive care unit that specialize in high-risk pregnancies and caring for fragile newborns.
Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center, the only nonprofit hospital in the area, has been recognized for dedication to patient safety as a "Straight A's" hospital, never receiving a grade lower than an A from the semi-annual Hospital Safety Score since the Score first launched in 2012. It is one of only 182 hospitals in the entire country to receive this recognition, which rates how well hospitals protect patients from preventable medical errors, injuries and infections. It has also been voted "Best Place to Work" and a "Top Workplace" multiple times in recent years by readers of the Orange County Register and OC Metro Magazine. It provides convenient access to comprehensive health care services at its specialty centers for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer, heart and vascular disease, obesity, orthopedics, digestive disease, movement disorders and Parkinson's disease as well as advanced imaging, childbirth services and outpatient rehabilitation and physical therapy.
