Orchard Supply Hardware® Arrives in South Florida for East Coast Expansion
Neighborhood Hardware and Garden Supply Store Plans Four Openings in Broward County
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Oct. 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Home and garden retailer Orchard Supply Hardware® (OSH) announced today that its first East Coast neighborhood store will officially open its doors Tuesday, Oct. 25, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The California-based lifestyle hardware and garden supply destination is bringing its unique approach to shopping for home enjoyment to the South Florida region. The nearly 30,000 square-foot Fort Lauderdale location with a 7,000 square-foot nursery will be followed by three additional openings in Broward County, including Weston, Deerfield and Coral Springs through the end of 2016.
In addition to the Broward county locations opening in 2016, the company plans to open stores throughout the state in 2017, with an average of 45 associates per store. More than 50 percent of those positions will be full-time, salaried employees eligible for benefits.

Prior to even the first store opening, the local team of employees started meeting its new neighbors in each city and joining in volunteer efforts such as cleaning up a stretch of beach with the Fort Lauderdale Beach Sweep team.

The community is invited to be the first to experience the Fort Lauderdale store and participate in unique and personalized activities during a housewarming event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 29. The store is located at 2871 N. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33306.
The first 100 customers attending the Fort Lauderdale housewarming will have the chance to receive a mystery gift card at Saturday's community event and the first 1,000 customers on Saturday and Sunday will receive a tote bag, along with other giveaways.
Orchard Supply Hardware offers more than 35,000 items to help home improvement customers with painting, landscaping, electrical and plumbing repairs, and home decorating. Customers will find exclusive brands such as Craftsman and Benjamin-Moore alongside national brands such as Toro, Stanley, DeWalt, Porter-Cable, Rubbermaid and much more.
