OS33 President Joins Board of TCI, an MSP-Focused Investment Group

NEW YORK, April 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Jacob Kazakevich, president and co-founder of OS33, a cloud-based IT-as-a-Service Delivery Platform for MSPs, has joined the Board of Technology Capital Investors (TCI), a New York-based investment group formed by MSP veterans and investment bankers, the company announced today.  OS33 is a TCI investment and the fastest-growing company within TCI's portfolio.

The TCI portfolio is comprised of MSPs and hosting companies that provide managed services and IaaS.  Different than most investment groups such as venture capital and private equity players in the space, TCI's core strategy is to leverage its operating expertise, proven track record and existing infrastructure investments to help regional MSPs grow their brand to become the dominant local provider.  With his background as a CTO of an MSP and OS33's involvement as a central component to all of TCI's portfolio companies, Kazakevich's appointment to the TCI Board was regarded as a natural evolution.

Kazakevich is responsible for the business operations, product development and strategic alliances for OS33, a company that enables MSPs to shift their managed service offerings to the cloud.  OS33 was spun off from External IT, a leader in the SMB hosted IT marketplace, which Kazakevich co-founded and spent seven years as its CTO.  During his tenure with External IT, Kazakevich managed all technical operations, including service delivery for hundreds of clients and thousands of end users.  Additionally, he increased the company's footprint and IT hosting capabilities by establishing data centers across the United States, and oversaw the acquisition of three smaller hosting providers.  He also was the CTO of Offyx Corporation, a New York City-based startup in the ASP market.  Kazakevich holds a bachelor's degree from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
