OSRAM SYLVANIA First To Offer LED Replacement Of 100-Watt Incandescent Bulb

DANVERS, Mass., Nov. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- North American lighting leader OSRAM SYLVANIA announced today the first to market 100-watt equivalent LED incandescent replacement offering long life and energy savings. The SYLVANIA ULTRA LED omnidirectional A21 bulb  consumes only 20-watts of electricity, saving consumers approximately $220* over its life compared to an incandescent bulb. 

The A21 100-watt equivalent type is part of the ULTRA LED A-Line series of bulbs, now available in four wattages, offering true substitutes for 40, 60, 75 and 100-watt incandescent bulbs. Producing a similar lumen output and distribution pattern to incandescent bulbs, ULTRA LED omnidirectional A-Line bulbs provide up to 80 percent energy savings over traditional incandescent bulbs. With a rated life of up to 25,000 hours, the LED bulbs last up to 25 times longer than traditional incandescent light sources, resulting in further cost savings from less required maintenance.

The SYLVANIA ULTRA High Performance Series omnidirectional LED A-Line bulb features a high color rendering index (CRI) of 80 and a 2700K warm white color temperature that rivals incandescent and halogen light sources. These environmentally preferable bulbs are free of mercury and lead. These features, plus all four wattages being dimmable to 10 percent, make the new LED A-Line bulb an attractive option for residential, hospitality, healthcare and retail applications.
