Otoe-Missouria Tribe Sponsors Native Son, MMA Champion Johny Hendricks

RED ROCK, Okla., May 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- American Web Loan, a tribal lending entity wholly owned by The Otoe-Missouria Tribe of Indians, today announced its sponsorship of native son and Mixed Martial Arts Welterweight Champion Johny "Bigg Rigg" Hendricks. Hendricks, a member of the Otoe-Missouria Tribe, is rated as one of the top fighters in the world.

Hendricks' championship belt was won in the MMA Octagon after a monumental defeat over his opponent several weeks ago by unanimous decision.  Born in Ada, Oklahoma, Hendricks was a three time Oklahoma High School Wrestling State Champion.  He went on to win the NCAA Division I title twice while competing for Oklahoma State University before embarking on a professional fighting career.

The Otoe-Missouria Tribe is headquartered in Red Rock, Oklahoma where about 3,000 members live, but has members living throughout the United States.  It is one of the smaller tribes in the state, but has been largely progressive in its sustainable development, specifically with its ecommerce initiatives that have provided critical services for its members.  The tribe's sponsorship of Hendricks is an example of their efforts to raise the Otoe-Missouria's profile and increase awareness of the issues they face by spotlighting one of their own.
