Public Sale to Feature 126 'Frontline-Ready' Vehicles

HARRISBURG, Pa., Aug. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- State General Services Secretary Sheri Phillips encourages the public to visit the Manheim Auto Auctions, located at 488 Firehouse Road, Grantville, Dauphin County, later this week to preview the more than 520 vehicles that will be available for bid on Monday, Aug. 13.

"This will be one of our largest-ever vehicle auctions," Phillips said. "With the huge number of vehicles available, we are urging the public to come out, preview the selection and do the necessary research and preparation to have a positive bidding experience."

Prospective bidders are invited to inspect the vehicles from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 9, through Sunday, Aug. 12.

The auction will feature 126 "frontline ready" vehicles acquired by PennDOT from a dealership for a road-widening project. All of the vehicles have clean titles, and are already PA inspected. Vehicles are from manufacturers such as Buick, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, GMS, Jeep, BMW, Volkswagen, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Honda and more.

"These vehicles are the same as you would buy from a dealership, and they present a great opportunity for a bidder to purchase a road-ready vehicle at a fair price," Phillips noted.

The auction will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 13. Registration opens at 8 a.m. and closes at noon. All revenue generated will be returned to the commonwealth. Buyers may purchase with cash or certified funds in the form of money orders, cashier's checks, certified checks or bank checks – all made payable to "Manheim Central Penn Auto Auction."
