PALMco Energy Announces International Expansion into Japanese Energy Market

The energy supply company's affiliate, Family Energy, GK launches to provide electricity supply services to residents and small businesses of Japan

NEW YORK, May 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- PALMco Energy, a privately-owned energy supply company in the United States, today announced its first international expansion with the introduction of electricity supply services into the Japanese energy market. The service will be provided by Family Energy, GK, an affiliate of PALMco Energy.

In April 2016, Japan transitioned into a deregulated retail energy model in order to modernize the country's energy sector and provide residents with a choice in energy supply through a competitive energy market. PALMco Energy submitted an application for a license in January 2017, and The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) in Japan approved PALMco Energy's license on April 20th. PALMco Energy is the 2^nd US retailer to secure a license and plans to begin offering service for consumers and small business this July. Family Energy, GK will offer service in all markets by yearend.
