All Paraco Gas branch offices will serve as drop-off hubs in their local communities for donated items. Some of the most-requested items include iTunes® gift cards, prepaid phone cards, protein powder and protein bars, batteries, DVD movies, flashlights, powdered drink mixes, beef jerky, and hand sanitizer.
In addition to the items above, Paraco Gas will be creating and collecting hand-made cards, videos, and banners to send to the troops, expressing appreciation and encouragement.
"Paraco has always made the commitment to give back to the communities we serve," noted Paraco South President Mike Gioffre. "We're always proud to support our troops, and we're happy to have found an organization like Give2TheTroops to partner with. We're really looking forward to being able to make a significant contribution to the effort."
Local residents and organizations are encouraged to bring their cards and donations to any Paraco Gas branch office from October 15 to November 30. All items collected will be delivered directly to Give2TheTroops for overseas shipment on December 1.
Give2TheTroops, a nonprofit charity organization founded by the wife of a deployed Marine, has sent over one million care packages and letters to deployed U.S. troops since 2002. Founder Andi Grant Edwards began with the hope of making sure every deployed troop member felt "remembered, appreciated and loved." Today the organization operates with the mission of "giving back to those who give all."
Paraco Gas is one of the leading propane suppliers in the United States, with a concentrated presence in the Northeast. Branch offices are located in New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts, with service areas extending into New Jersey and Rhode Island as well.
A complete list of items requested for donation can be viewed on the Paraco website.
