Park West Gallery presents Patrick Guyton in "Sophisticated Simplicity"

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., May 3, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Park West Gallery, known for fine art auctions on cruise ships, live art auctions in major metropolitan areas and art galleries in Detroit and Miami Lakes, Florida, presents the metallic and elegant art of artist Patrick Guyton.

Experience "Sophisticated Simplicity" from May 8-29 at Park West Gallery, located in Southfield, Michigan, where 45 new works by Guyton will be on display and available to collect in its main showroom.

Guests who RSVP for an opening reception on May 7 will have the opportunity to meet the artist from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

This will be the first time Guyton has held a solo exhibition at Park West Gallery. The collection featured during "Sophisticated Simplicity" is the largest collection of Guyton paintings publicly offered by Park West Gallery.

Guyton's art fuses Japanese gold and silver leafing techniques from the 14th century with 17th-century Flemish techniques of glazing.  By combining these techniques with transparent layers of paint, Guyton achieves a style that masterfully contrasts light and dark while breathing new life into ancient aesthetics.

"Guyton's paintings contain a sense of balance and harmony, allowing viewers to relax and escape, even if just for a moment, from the commotion of their everyday lives," Gorman says.

Guyton, who resides in Orange County, California, worked as a commercial artist creating signs, murals and illustrations. In the late '90s, he worked in animation with Warner Brothers before transitioning to fine art.
