PBL Announces National Combine Tryout Weekend

CHICAGO, July 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Premier Basketball League is gearing up for its 5th season and will host its 2011/2012 National PBL Player Combine weekend set for Saturday August 27th & Sunday August 28th, 2011 at the Attack Athletics facility in Chicago, IL.

The Combine will consist of the following events:

• On Saturday August 27th, from 8:00am – 4:00pm there will be an open tryout. This will be open to any player wishing to play in the Premier Basketball League for the upcoming 2012 season.
• On Sunday August 28th, from 8:00am – 2:00pm the PBL will host another tryout in which select players from Saturday's tryout will join another group of players that will have received invitations from the League as well.

In late October of this year, the league will host its 5th annual PBL Lottery Draft. Further Draft details will be released on the PBL website (www.thePBL.com)

The Combine will be held at the famed Attack Athletics Facility located at 2641 West Harrison Avenue in Chicago, IL. The 65,000 sq. ft. facility boasts 4 NBA sized basketball courts, seating for 1,000 people, a 10,000 sq. ft. weight room and 4 locker rooms. The facility is home to many NBA Players to work out during the off-season such as Chicago native Dwayne Wade.

Players must be 18yrs of age and older and are advised to arrive at 8:00am to sign-in and warm up. Jerseys will be provided upon arrival. In order to tryout basketball shorts and shoes are mandatory. Family members of players trying out may sit in attendance.

Agents and Scouts are welcome to attend. Their credentials are kindly requested by league management in order to have them printed prior to combine weekend.

Players can register online by visiting www.thePBL.com and clicking the Combine link on the home page. A check or money order for the $50.00 registration fee should be received by the league office no later than Friday August 19th, 2011. Players may also pay their fee in cash or money order form at the day of the event.
