Peak Trust Management Certificate Program to Welcome Inaugural Class
Reducing industry barriers nationwide for the next generation of trust experts
NEWARK, Delaware, Feb. 5, 2025 /PRNewswire/ - The University of Delaware's Professional and Continuing Studies (PCS) is set to welcome the first cohort of Peak Trust Management Certificate students on April 21st, 2025, from coast-to-coast.
A national leader in complex and sophisticated estate planning, Peak Trust Company ("Peak Trust") announced a $550,000 donation to the school last spring, made possible by the Horejsi Charitable Foundation. In tandem with a scholar's fund for students in the the Trust Management Minor, this gift has been instrumental in bringing the Peak Trust Management Certificate to life.
Designed for professionals looking to transition into to the industry—or deepen their careers within the Wealth Management and Trust Administration field— the program opened applications this winter and will be accepting prospective students until April 16th.
The certificate builds on UD's expertise in trust management, spearheaded by Jennifer Zelvin McCloskey, director and lead faculty of the program. "Back in 2018, I noticed a significant gap in the trust and estates training space. There were more roadblocks than accessible, specialized and substantive entry points for the next generation." McCloskey recalled. "With the visionary support of Peak Trust, our inaugural certificate cohort is more than just a class, it's a bridge to the future of this industry."
Through five distinct online modules over a three-month session, participants will prepare to join the trust management field through exposure to the fundamentals of trust law and administration, fiduciary income taxation, individual income taxation, trust operations systems, trust compliance and trust investment management.
