SEATTLE, March 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- PEMCO Insurance today announced it will kick off its third year of support of the Seattle Sounders FC with a way for the footballer in all of us to shine without the need to run fast, land a header or dribble with either foot: the 2011 Foos Cup presented by PEMCO at all regular-season home matches.
As part of its partnership with the Sounders, PEMCO will host a series of foosball tournaments from its mobile booth in Soccer Celebration at Qwest Field for the two hours preceding first kick, in addition to offering a souvenir photo program many fans will remember from past seasons.
In the 2011 Foos Cup, teams of two will have five minutes to play foosball and score as many goals as possible before time runs out. The highest scorers before each match will be treated to SounderVision fame, with their names and photo announced in the stadium during that day's match. The all-time top scorers also will win a VIP experience for the Sounders' last home match on Oct. 15, 2011.
"We're excited the Sounders season is here, and this year the Foos Cup will add an element of friendly competition to the PEMCO match-day experience," said PEMCO spokesperson Jon Osterberg. "We especially look forward to finding some great new homes for the Foos Cup tables once the season ends."
At the end of the season, PEMCO plans to donate the regulation Foos Cup foosball tables to youth organizations that can continue the competition once the Sounders have concluded their season.
PEMCO's mobile booth and its team of brand ambassadors will attend every home match, where fans who stop by the PEMCO booth can enter the tournament and also have their souvenir photo taken as PEMCO's Sounders-themed Northwest Profile #26, "'I Know I Am, I'm Sure I Am' Sounders FC Fan."
The Sounders profile is just one of many recognizable depictions of Northwest people that make up PEMCO's "We're A Lot Like You. A Little Different." ad campaign.
