Penton's Fire Chief Wins a Gold Tabbie Award by the Trade Association and Business Publications International (TABPI)
NEW YORK, July 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Penton's Fire Chief magazine, the only publication dedicated exclusively to chiefs and officers, today announced it won a gold Tabbie award from the Trade Association and Business Publications International's (TABPI) 10th annual awards competition supporting editorial and design excellence.
The gold award was awarded in the "Technical Article" category for the May 2012 cover story "Seeing the Big Picture," which focuses the importance of the federal government spending $7 billion on a nationwide broadband network for public safety—and in particular for fire and emergency medical services (EMS). According to the TABPI judges, "Great sidebars. Well written, informative."
In addition, the magazine received an honorable mention in the "Editor's Column" category for the February 2012 story "The More Things Change, the More They Need to Change," which focused on the need for more diversity in fire service.
