NEW YORK, Aug. 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Penton Technology's Talkin' Cloud has released the fifth Talkin' Cloud 100 list, the definitive annual ranking of the industry's Top 100 Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) with ties to the IT channel. The Top 100 cloud companies on the list this year generated more than $30 billion in combined cloud services revenues in 2014, up nearly 29 percent over what they reported the previous year.
Talkin' Cloud, produced by Penton, is the go-to resource for CSPs, VARs and MSPs profiting from cloud computing. Talkin' Cloud features news, research, Channel Expert Hour Webcasts, FastChat videos and more. It is the first online media destination for channel partners working in the cloud.

The companies showcased this year pursue a variety of routes to market—everything from developing cloud-based technologies to providing various technologies-as-a service (XaaS) to cloud brokering, cloud aggregating, managed services providing and more. In addition to the cloud services they provide, Talkin' Cloud 100 companies also offer a range of IT consulting, deployment, integration and management services to customers.
Analysis of companies on the 2015 list reveals several key trends in the market. Among other things, members of the Talkin' Cloud 100 are enjoying healthy revenue growth, developing lucrative practices in key vertical markets including healthcare, financial services and manufacturing, and expanding into adjacent technology markets. They are also distinguishing themselves in the market in a number of ways. In June of this year, StratoGen, No. 81 on the 2015 Talkin' Cloud 100 list, was named the "Veeam Cloud Provider of the Year" at the VeeamON forum held in London.
"The vibrancy of companies on The Talkin' Cloud 100 list is only surpassed by the creativity of these organizations," said T.C. Doyle, Senior Content Director with Penton Technology. "This year, we see more companies expanding into new geographies, offering new services and refining their best practices with new pricing models, customer service policies and partner engagement strategies."
In addition to these trends, the 2015 edition of the Talkin' Cloud 100 underscores the level of deal making now taking place within the cloud market. Cloud Sherpas, No. 56 on this year's list, has completed seven acquisitions since 2011—more than what CEO David Northington anticipated after joining the company. While the deals have given the company significant lift in terms of talent, market reach and technological savvy, ongoing operations are propelling the company from a revenue standpoint, he said in an interview with Talkin' Cloud.
The 2015 edition of the Talkin' Cloud 100 is based on data from Talkin' Cloud's online survey, which was conducted between January and May 2015, and insights and analysis from the editors of Penton Technology's Channel brands, including The VAR Guy, the WHIR, MSPmentor and Talkin' Cloud. Among other things, the editors reviewed several metrics including annual cloud services revenue growth (both in actual dollars and in percentage growth rates).
"The industry is changing at a rapid pace and the Talkin' Cloud 100 companies consistently demonstrate a versatility and agility that sets them apart," said Nicole Henderson, Editor in Chief, Talkin' Cloud. "They do so with innovation, via strategic partnerships, and through their commitment to providing superior customer experiences."
