P.F. Chang's® Partners with Starlight Children's Foundation to Deliver Happiness and Comfort to Children Through Inaugural Spirit of the Zodiac Campaign

Year of the Fire Horse: Spirit of Strength aims to raise $500,000 through a campaign centered on Bao, a limited-edition horse plushie, alongside an original children's book

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Sept. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- P.F. Chang's® today announced the launch of Spirit of the Zodiac, a new annual giving initiative inspired by the Chinese zodiac and designed to bring each year's zodiac symbol to life through a unique charitable campaign. The inaugural campaign, Year of the Fire Horse: Spirit of Strength, will benefit Starlight Children's Foundation and support children and families during hospital stays.

Serving more than 800 children's hospitals nationwide, Starlight Children's Foundation provides programs including toy deliveries, hospital gowns, gaming stations, and other experiences designed to bring comfort, connection, and moments of happiness to children during medical care.

Inspired by the horse's strength, courage and resilience, the month-long Spirit of Strength campaign centers on Bao, P.F. Chang's limited-edition horse plushie, whose story will also be brought to life through an original children's book by author Jenny Liao and illustrator Adriane Tsai, expected to publish later this month. The digital story will follow Bao through themes of courage, kindness, comfort and hope, creating another way for children and families to connect with the campaign beyond the restaurant.

From September 2 through September 30, Bao will be available for purchase for $10 through dine-in transactions at participating restaurants, while supplies last. For each Bao plushie purchased during the campaign, P.F. Chang's will donate an identical Bao plushie to Starlight Children's Foundation for distribution to children through its hospital network, up to a maximum of 20,000 donated plushies.

Guests who purchase Bao or make an in-restaurant donation of $10 or more to Starlight at participating P.F. Chang's restaurants will receive an offer for a complimentary appetizer with the purchase of an entrée on a future dine-in visit, valid through October 31, 2026. Guests can also support Starlight by rounding up their checks or making a direct donation in restaurant. Together, these efforts aim to raise $500,000 in support of Starlight's work with children and families.
