PGA Tour Pros Stuart Appleby and Jason Kokrak highlight 2016 Shootout field at Horseshoe Bay Resort
LPGA professionals Kathleen Ekey and Katie Burnett round out teams at second-annual match play event
HORSESHOE BAY, Texas, April 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Horseshoe Bay Resort, home to three award-winning Robert Trent Jones, Sr. golf courses and the famed Whitewater Bermuda Grass putting course, is hosting the second annual Shootout at Horseshoe Bay Resort on Monday, May 23rd at the resort's famed Slick Rock golf course.
PGA Tour professionals Stuart Appleby and Jason Kokrak will team up with LPGA Tour professionals Kathleen Ekey and Katie Burnett in the competition. Former Golf Channel analyst Win McMurry will help host the event. The annual competition is a team match play event and will begin at "high noon" at the resort's legendary Slick Rock Golf Course.

During the event, resort guests will be able to walk "inside the ropes" and follow the action from an insider's point of view, walking behind the golfers on the Slick Rock fairway.
Slick Rock, which re-opened on April 23rd after a seven-month renovation, was the original course at Horseshoe Bay Resort when it opened 1972 and was named Best New Course in America.
The recent Slick Rock renovation was a collaboration between RTJ II architects, Larson Golf Services and the Horseshoe Bay Resort agronomy team led by Ken Gorzycki. The renovation was focused on completely renovating the greens and restoring the architectural integrity and design of the bunkers, green collars and upgrading the irrigation system.

Kokrak and LPGA tour professional Ryann O'Toole won the most recent shootout. This year, Kokrak (Twelve PGA Top 10 finishes since 2012) will team up with Ekey (top 25 finish at North Texas Shootout). Appleby (Nine-time PGA Tour winner) will be paired with Burnett (top 10 finish at LPGA Lotte Championship).
The resort, located 45-minutes west of Austin, is offering Shootout room packages starting at $199 per room. Each package includes two tickets to the event and transportation from the hotel to the Slick Rock course.
