Pink's Hot Dogs in Los Angeles vs Wiener's Circle in Chicago
National League Championship Series: Dodgers vs. Cubs
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The steam heated up faster than the action on the field.
On the eve of the National League Championship Series starting in Chicago on October 15th, Wiener's Circle in Chicago tweeted Pink's Hot Dogs – "I hope LA is better at baseball than they are at hot dogs. Sauerkraut?!? What's next? Ketchup?"
Pink's responded:
" #OhGod #TheJerk @DogsNShakes who wrote that will upset @CarlReiner & his #CarlReinerDog at #PinksHotDogs. #MustardSauerkraut #GoDodgers"
And they were just getting started…
Wiener's Circle quickly tweeted:
"Oooooh. @PinksHotDogs dropping those names LA Style like the Dodgers outfield drops them fly balls #GoCubsGo"
Pink's next invoked the ghost of opportunities lost –
"Will @stevebartman03 B there tonight to help out then? He can keep #Coghlin and #Soler company. #DodgersVSCubs – included with a GIF of the "catch".
The back and forth continued until they finally decided on a friendly wager. Dodgers vs. Cubs. Los Angeles vs. Chicago.
If Cubs win, Pink's Hot Dogs will buy Wiener's Circle Chicago Dogs for their first 108 (number of years since the Cubs won the World Series) people in line on Tuesday, October 25th, 2016 at 10:30am which is the 1st day of the World Series in Cleveland. Pink's will also donate $1908 (the last year Cubs won the World Series) to the charity of Wiener's Circle's choice.
If Dodgers win, Wiener's Circle will buy a Pink's Chili Cheese Dog for one hour, for everyone in line, at Pink's Hot Dogs on La Brea, on Tuesday, October 25th, 2016 beginning at 10:30am. Wiener's Circle will also donate their two best hours of sales to Pink's Hot Dogs' chosen charity.
