BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., April 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Veteran media executive David Israel, who since joining Playboy Enterprises in 2012 has been involved in every area of the company's day-to-day operations, has been named Chief Financial Officer of the company. As an extension of his existing role as Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Israel will oversee the company's strategic planning, corporate and business development and financial operations.
Mr. Israel replaces Christoph Pachler who is departing Playboy to become Chief Financial Officer of Critical Content, a new independent content studio focused on unscripted and scripted content for broadcast, cable and digital platforms.
"David has played an integral role in helping to build Playboy's global media business these past three years and more recently has led our e-commerce and licensing divisions," said Scott Flanders, Chief Executive Officer of Playboy Enterprises. "His international background and his extensive knowledge of our business make him perfectly suited to take on this expanded role at Playboy."

Prior to joining Playboy in 2012, Mr. Israel was the Chairman, CEO and founding partner of Procysive Corporation, an online intelligence and competitor/opposition research start-up. Prior to Procysive, Mr. Israel was CEO, International for Reed Business Information where he oversaw the company's developing publishing and data businesses in France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Scandinavia, Australia and Asia. Previously, Israel served as CEO, Classified Ventures and as President of Macmillan Computer Publishing. He earned his M.B.A. and B.B.A. degrees from James Madison University.
