PLUMgrid Open Networking Suite for OpenStack Achieves Certification with Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 5

PARIS, Nov. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- OPENSTACK SUMMIT -- PLUMgrid, a leading innovator of virtual network infrastructure for OpenStack clouds, announced today that its Open Networking Suite 2.0 (ONS) for OpenStack has achieved certification with Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 5.

PLUMgrid ONS, which provides a comprehensive set of networking services for virtualized and non-virtualized data centers, is among the industry's first software-only virtual networking solutions to be certified with Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 5. Red Hat's certification requires passing an extensive test suite to ascertain compatibility with OpenStack APIs and other functions implemented in Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 5. 

The certification of PLUMgrid ONS 2.0 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 5 augments the previous certification PLUMgrid achieved with Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 4 in April 2014. The certification means that Red Hat customers can confidently run PLUMgrid ONS via an OpenStack Networking (Neutron) plug-in on either Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 4 or 5.

The latest version of PLUMgrid ONS, version 2.0, was announced last week. It introduces numerous features, including support for additional major distros, Life Cycle Manager with automated installer, and Linux container support.

Additionally, the PLUMgrid certification with Red Hat allows customers to rapidly leverage new enhancements in Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 5. These include the wizard-based platform installer, high availability add-on and enhanced dashboard support. PLUMgrid ONS provides secure cloud infrastructure with Virtual Domains and uses PLUMgrid Life Cycle Manager to streamline installation of ONS on OpenStack distributions such as RHEL OSP 5. The combined support provides Red Hat and PLUMgrid customers with a validated, enterprise-ready OpenStack cloud solution that is simpler and faster to deploy with multi-tenant security and high availability.
