Poland invites Raytheon to participate in round two of WISLA technical dialogues

TEWKSBURY, Mass., Feb. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Poland's Ministry of National Defense announced the start of phase two of a technical dialogue regarding their national medium-range air and missile defense system, named "WISLA". Raytheon is one of five parties shortlisted for the continuing dialogue.

According to Poland's announcement, the second stage aims to identify the areas of potential technical and industrial cooperation, the transfer of knowledge, technology, and production, and address the intellectual property rights available as part of the offers from each of the chosen parties.

Raytheon will partner with Poland on the future technology development roadmap of Patriot and has identified many co-development opportunities for Polish industry to participate spanning integration, command and control, radar enhancements and missile technologies. Raytheon recently signed a Letter of Intent with Poland's Polski Holding Obronny sp.z o.o. (PHO) to explore cooperation and mutually beneficial business opportunities related to Poland's ambitions as well as potential exports to and cooperation in third country markets. Raytheon is also exploring opportunities with several other Polish companies across the country's defense sector, as well as their world renowned research institutions.

Raytheon and PHO are hosting a Partnering Conference to be held March 18-19, 2014 at the Hilton Hotel in Warsaw, Poland. The company's Patriot program is currently supported by more than 2,800 suppliers from 20 different countries. The conference will allow Raytheon to meet with numerous companies and explore joint opportunities in Poland in areas such as design, advanced software/algorithm development, communications, final assembly, component manufacturing, testing, service and support for radar, missiles and command/control systems.
