BATTLE CREEK, Mich., Dec. 9, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Four lucky fans from across the United States have been selected as finalists in the Kellogg's Pop-Tarts® Pop It Forward Contest – a national search for fun and creative ideas for sharing one million Pop-Tarts® toaster pastries.  On Dec. 15, teen music sensation Cody Simpson will announce the final results of online voting that determined which one million Pop-Tarts® idea will become a reality.  The announcement will be made at 3:30 p.m. EST at Pop-Tarts World in New York City's Times Square and will feature a performance by Simpson for a limited audience inside the store.

Throughout the fall, thousands of entrants logged on to the Pop-Tarts® Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/kelloggspoptarts) to submit their ideas for a chance to win the grand prize of one million Pop-Tarts® toaster pastries, as well as one of 100 weekly 1,000 Pop-Tarts® toaster pastries prizes and two monthly 100,000 Pop-Tarts® toaster pastries prizes.  Now, the votes have been tallied and the four finalists have been selected for the grand prize of one million Pop-Tarts®.

"It has been so much fun to see the great ideas from our fans for what they would do with one million Pop-Tarts® toaster pastries," said Pop-Tarts® Brand Manager, Zena Arnold. "We're thrilled with the overwhelming response we've received, and look forward to seeing the grand prize idea come to life."

The four finalists are: Gardenia Blackwell of Oakland, California, who submitted an idea to build a giant Pop-Tarts® domino track at her school; Tyler Kozar of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who would love to create Pop Art at a nearby art institute using the wrappers and boxes of one million Pop-Tarts® toaster pastries; Braden Bradford of Plant City, Florida, who submitted an idea to host the world's largest pajama party in New York's Central Park complete with one million Pop-Tarts® for all guests; and Brian Mahardy of Belleair Beach, Florida, who would like to travel the country sharing his one million Pop-Tarts® with those in need.

A limited number of tickets for the announcement event and Simpson performance will be distributed via random selection process in front of Pop-Tarts World™ beginning at 6:00 a.m. EST on Dec. 15.  As fans line up, each will receive a numbered ticket. At 7:30 a.m., there will be a random selection process and those who hold tickets chosen will gain access to the concert, which will take place later that day at 3:30 p.m.  Those under the age of 18 are required to be accompanied by a legal guardian to the event and will have to use their second ticket for this purpose. For those who do not receive one of the limited available tickets, the concert event will be broadcast live outside of Pop-Tarts World™.   The grand prize announcement and concert will also be re-broadcast on the Pop It Forward Facebook page the following day, Dec. 16, for the enjoyment of Pop-Tarts® fans around the world.  For more information about ticket distribution and the Dec. 15 event, visit: http://www.facebook.com/kelloggspoptarts.
