NEW YORK, March 22, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Douglas Elliman Real Estate, the largest brokerage in the New York Metropolitan area and the third largest residential real estate company nationwide, is pleased to announce that two of the leading real estate teams in Manhattan are merging, creating a forward-thinking and illustrious partnership. Barak Dunayer, one of Halstead's top-producing agents, has partnered with the award-winning Jacky Teplitzky Team at Douglas Elliman Real Estate, along with this wife, Yael Dunayer, and team member, John Machamer.
The Jacky Teplitzky Team is consistently ranked among Douglas Elliman's top producers. The team was responsible for several notable deals in 2018, including a $26.5 million sale at the ultra-luxe 220 Central Park South and the sale of a 58th floor duplex at 252 East 57th Street to the CEO of Pineapple Hospitality Company for $12.9 million. They have sold more than $1 billion in New York and Miami real estate.
"The strategic partnership of these two great teams is bound to produce nothing but tremendous success," said Howard M. Lorber, Executive Chairman, Douglas Elliman Realty, LLC. "We are excited to welcome Barak and his talented team to The Jacky Teplitzky Team and to the Douglas Elliman family."
Driving the momentum of this banner year into the start of 2019, the team aims to navigate a changing market and create even more value with this new partnership.
"By partnering, Barak and I are creating one powerhouse team with big ambitions for 2019. We are similar in our philosophy and values, and we are both all about giving the best service to our clients," said Jacky Teplitzky. "We are both Israelis who come from an environment of constant change and adaptability. I have seen a huge transition in the real estate market and in the brokerage industry – more so in the last few years than in the last thirty. I believe that through this partnership, we can do more together, stay ahead of the curve and bring innovative competitive marketing techniques to our clients."
Barak Dunayer started his real estate career in 1999 out of his Upper West Side studio apartment and subsequently built his successful agency, BARAK Realty, into one of Manhattan's premier boutique firms, including two Manhattan offices, over 40 sales associates, 400 transactions per year and over $500,000,000 in volume. In 2012, his company was acquired by Halstead Real Estate where, for nearly seven years, his sales team was consistently ranked among the firm's top producers.
"I've known Jacky for twenty years and have always admired her brilliant business ethic and marketing mind," said Barak Dunayer. "When she reached out to me about joining forces, I immediately saw the tremendous amount of possibilities we could create together, and I'm thrilled that this partnership has come to fruition. By bringing our teams together we are able to be even more competitive, more nimble, and offer an elevated, more sophisticated service to our clients, team members and referral partners."
In addition to his daily sales, marketing and customer service accomplishments, Dunayer is a frequent speaker at various high-profile venues. He served as an adjunct professor of real estate at New York University, has presented at the New York Real Estate Institute, Ivy Real Estate School, Baruch College Newman Institute, Jewish Community Center of Manhattan, National Realty Club, the Real Estate Academy and various REBNY panels.
Dunayer was born and raised in Israel where he grew up pursuing his first lifelong goal of becoming a world-class trumpet player. As a young musician, he won numerous musical competitions, played principal trumpet in some of Israel's prominent youth orchestras and has appeared several times as a soloist with both the Haifa Symphony and the Israeli Philharmonic. After graduating high school and serving in the Israeli Army (Lead Trumpet at the Israeli Army Band) he received a full scholarship to study at The Juilliard School and landed in New York. An avid runner and triathlete, he has successfully completed six Ironman 70.3 races, three Olympic distance triathlons, and two marathons.
Together, The Jacky Teplitzky Team will now be comprised of eight agents total. Their services will continue to cater to the New York City and Miami market place, and the new members will be based out of the team's existing office at 575 Madison Avenue.
