Practice Fusion to Provide Access to Electronic Laboratory Test Ordering and Reporting with Quest Diagnostics

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Practice Fusion, the nation's largest cloud-based electronic health records (EHR) platform today announced a new agreement that will enable Practice Fusion's community of more than 112,000 medical professionals to order and manage clinical laboratory test results nationwide directly in the Practice Fusion EHR through Quest Diagnostics (NYSE: DGX), the world's leading provider of diagnostic information services.

Beginning as early as the first quarter of 2015, providers that use the Practice Fusion EHR and receive results electronically from Quest Diagnostics will also be able to place laboratory test orders electronically to a Quest Diagnostics clinical laboratory. Once lab testing is complete, results will be transmitted to the provider's Practice Fusion EHR directly. Physicians also have the option to share test results with their patients through Patient Fusion, the consumer-facing portal.

Quest Diagnostics serves approximately one in three American adults and half of all physicians and hospitals. Its industry-leading menu includes specialty services for cancer, infectious diseases and neurology as well as wellness and other routine testing.
