Press Conference: Mayors to Take Stand Against Violence Against African American Men and Boys

NEW ORLEANS, Feb. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Eighteen mayors and more than 200 city leaders from 37 municipalities will convene tomorrow in New Orleans, La. to launch Cities United, a nationwide initiative to reduce violence-related death of young African American men and boys. The two-day conference will feature keynote speakers including Karol V. Mason, Assistant Attorney General, Office of Justice Programs at the U.S. Department of Justice, policy discussions and breakout sessions with the goal to equip local elected officials with tools, best practices, skills and resources to restore hope and opportunities to young African American men and boys directly affected by violence.
