PruittHealth - Elkin Unveils New Building Addition at Local Open House

ELKIN, N.C., May 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Hundreds of people joined PruittHealth – Elkin (formerly known as UniHealth Post-Acute Care – Elkin) yesterday for its open house event, unveiling the new building expansion. Guests included local community members; the PruittHealth – Elkin staff, as well as other members of the PruittHealth family; and family and friends of those in the center's care. Guests were given a guided tour of the new addition (approximately 15,000 square feet), featuring state-of-the-art amenities.

PruittHealth – Elkin is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center that is licensed to care for a maximum of 100 patients, some who need short-term rehabilitation and some who require long-term assistance with 24-hour care. The purpose of this expansion is to provide the most advanced therapy amenities, as well as to provide the center with more modernized amenities, such as an internet cafe and coffee shop. The upgrades allow for PruittHealth – Elkin to grow in quality and ensure a more comfortable and tranquil environment for all guests.

New amenities at PruittHealth - Elkin include: 38 new private and 31 new semi-private rooms; a therapy suite with state-of-the-art Biodex™ and Nautilus® equipment; an aquatic therapy pool; a beautiful new lobby with a coffee shop, serving Starbucks® coffee; a library, featuring a stone clad electric fireplace and internet cafe; additional living rooms; centrally located nurses stations; modernized decor; indoor and outdoor water features; new outdoor seating in an enclosed private courtyard; and two additional dining areas.
