Punch Communications Announces Winner of Unconventional 'No CV' Recruitment Campaign
LONDON, June 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Integrated PR, search and social media agency Punch Communications, has today announced the outcome of 'No CV' - a highly unconventional recruitment campaign that encouraged junior candidates to think beyond the confines of the traditional CV and to showcase their creativity.
As a business that prides itself on being an innovator in social media, SEO and PR, Punch wanted to use this activity to experiment with hiring new team members through a process that created opportunities for candidates to shine. Candidates were asked to visit the Punch site and respond to a creative brief for a fictitious Punch sub-brand: 'team geek'.
The 'No CV' brief reflected the agency's cross section of disciplines by asking individuals to submit ideas for an integrated campaign for the launch of an exclusive range of #teamgeek products. Candidates were challenged to demonstrate how they would approach the campaign by drafting posts for Twitter, Facebook and Google+ as well as a blog about the new product launch - whilst integrating online press outreach and a search strategy.
Erin Ablett fought off competition from across the country to win a contract at Punch Communications working across PR, search and social clients. Completing the series of challenges illustrated her dynamism, aptitude, industry understanding and writing skills.
Erin commented: "When the 'No CV' campaign was launched I jumped at the opportunity to be involved. Having worked at the agency for just a few days I can already see how PR, SEO and social media work in harmony with each other and I am learning so many new things. Punch has an amazing portfolio of clients that will provide me with experience of a wide range of sectors. I look forward in immersing myself in the business."
Managing director, Pete Goold, added: "The role of a PR professional is changing to include search and social media, which means the way we recruit new talent needs to reflect this. We were looking for the most creative and fresh approach to the brief integrating traditional PR with social media and SEO, through lateral thinking. The campaign has been a huge success, demonstrating that there is a wealth of talent and creativity in the jobs market that cannot always be communicated through a two-page CV.
"As well as the lateral thinking employed in her response, Erin has bags of enthusiasm, which helped her to stand out during the 'No CV' campaign. Over the next month she will be immersed into Punch's can-do culture, and will learn how to adapt to our fully integrated approach."
