RALEIGH, N.C., Dec. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- PwC US today announced that Laura Robinette has been appointed as Managing Partner of its Raleigh Office. In her new role, Robinette will focus on growing PwC's business in the Raleigh market as well as supporting the growth and development of the people working in that office. Additionally, she will continue to serve as the leader of the Emerging Company Services (ECS) practice for PwC's Carolinas market. Robinette succeeds Tim Throndson who relocated to Cleveland to serve as the Tax Leader for PwC's Lake Erie market.

Robinette was admitted to the partnership in 2008 as an assurance partner and provides a range of audit and business advisory services to a number of pharmaceutical, life sciences and technology companies in the Triangle. She also works with professionals in PwC's tax and advisory service lines to help clients solve their business issues. Additionally, Robinette is also the lead partner in the Carolinas for delivering PwC's International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) services, including educating clients on the standards and implementation procedures.
Over the past several years, Robinette has been involved in more than ten initial public offerings and numerous carve out audits, including many in the medical device and life science industries. She has also been actively engaged in both buy and sell side mergers and acquisitions throughout the United States. Additionally, she works closely with the venture capital community and the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) to report on trends in venture capital investing in the state of North Carolina, leveraging the PwC/NVCA MoneyTree Report with data provided by Thomson Reuters.
Robinette graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Virginia Tech and is a member of the AICPA and the NCACPA. She has been an active volunteer and board member at Artspace for the past 10 years and is currently the Board Treasurer. She is also on the board for the Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) and serves on the Poole College of Management Board at North Carolina State University. She is also actively involved on the Advisory Boards of North Carolina State University and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
