Colman brings more than 30 years of experience to his role, serving large multi-national companies in the areas of accounting, auditing, financial reporting, mergers and acquisitions and risk management. As East Region Vice Chairman, Colman led the markets in the East in client service and practice development of PwC's Accounting, Tax and Advisory lines of service.
"Vin has a proven track record, deep experience and tremendous passion for helping our clients adapt and succeed in a world of constant change, but also in thinking about the investing community," said Bob Moritz, PwC US Chairman and Senior Partner. "His experience will enable PwC to lead the way in assuring trust in our capital markets."
Previously, Colman served as PwC's U.S. Assurance Managing Partner where he oversaw the operations of the Assurance practice including transaction services, markets, industry sectors and human capital. He also previously served as the leader of PwC's National Office, a role in which he had overall responsibility for formulating the firm's positions on technical accounting, auditing and SEC reporting matters.
"I look forward to the opportunity of leading PwC's Assurance practice, helping companies fulfil their reporting obligations and address complex business issues in a challenging economic environment," said Colman. "This is a time of transformation in our profession and in business overall. So, my focus will be on driving growth both in our core attest and non-audit priority services, championing work-life flexibility and, above all, continuing to deliver audit quality."
Colman is a former member of the Center for Audit Quality's Executive Committee and the Professional Practice Executive Committee of the AICPA, the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board's Standing Advisory Group. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from St. John's University and is a Certified Public Accountant in Connecticut, New Jersey and New York.
