PwC Minneapolis Donates $20,000 to The First Tee of Twin Cities

MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- PwC US today announced that its Minneapolis office will donate $20,000 to The First Tee of Twin Cities, a non-profit organization that teaches youth core values like integrity, respect and perseverance through the game of golf. Funded by a grant from the PwC Charitable Foundation, Inc.  the donation will be used to build capacity across First Tee's Life Skills Experience programs, which serves youth ages five and older during after-school hours, weekends and summer months. Part of the grant will help facilitate the utilization of PwC's financial literacy curriculum, which teaches children the importance of money management.

The First Tee of Twin Cities offers a safe and positive learning environment, providing character education and life skills lessons during non-school hours. These lessons are held all around Minneapolis, including golf courses, schools, parks, youth-serving organizations, community centers and military installations. Thanks to donations to the organization, cost is not a barrier to participation as scholarships are available for young people who cannot afford to pay.

In conjunction with the grant, The First Tee of Twin Cities will hold several programs throughout the fall and into spring including youth golf clinics and camps where staff from PwC Minneapolis will be teaching PwC's financial literacy curriculum.
