Qatar Airways Hosts Celebratory Dinner In Miami For Cruise And Marine Partners

MIAMI, May 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Qatar Airways, a proud member of the oneworld alliance, hosted a 5-star dinner yesterday evening in Miami to celebrate the up-coming one-year anniversary of non-stop service between Miami and Doha.

Hosted at the spectacular Nikki Beach Miami, Qatar Airways used the evening to celebrate their partnership with South Florida's cruise and marine segment. The event was attended by all the major cruise lines operating from PortMiami, including Carnival Cruise Lines, Norwegian Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean.

"As our anniversary with Miami approaches, we wanted to thank the cruise and marine specialists who welcomed us to Florida," said Qatar Airways Vice President, The Americas, Gunter Saurwein. "In 2014, we brought our 5-star hospitality to Miami with five flights a week, but due to growing demand, we are pleased to begin daily operations to Miami, beginning November 18, 2015."

Qatar Airways' Miami to Doha route is the first non-stop service between Miami and the Middle East since 2008. Through Doha's centralized location and the state-of-the-art services of Hamad International Airport, travelers from Miami can reach cities such as Bangkok, Nairobi, Colombo, Jakarta, and Mumbai in an impressive 20 hours or less through a quick transfer in Doha.

Qatar Airways' Miami to Doha route is operated with a Boeing 777-300ER in a two-class configuration of 42 seats in Business and 293 seats in Economy. The aircraft offers seatback TV screens providing passengers with a next-generation interactive onboard entertainment system and a choice of more than 2,000 on-demand audio and video options.

Qatar Airways has seen rapid growth in just 18 years of operation, to the point where today it is flying a modern fleet of 157 aircraft to 146 key business and leisure destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, North America and South America.
