WASHINGTON, July 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Qatar Airways, the national carrier of the State of Qatar, celebrates five years of flying to the capital of the United States. The airline began flights to Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) on July 19th, 2007.
The fifth anniversary comes a week after Qatar Airways was named World's Best Airline at the prestigious annual Skytrax awards and just a month after the carrier celebrated five years of service to New York – its first US gateway.
Washington, DC is served non-stop, daily from Qatar Airways' hub in Doha, Qatar, offering passengers superior levels of hospitality.
Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said: "This year marks an important anniversary on the airline's route map, with the celebration of two key US routes of New York and Washington which seamlessly connect passengers from West to East via Doha."
