Whitman to Seclude Herself with GOP Establishment, Away From Press and Regular People -- but Queen Meg is Available to All
Day 7 of Royal Coronation Tour as Queen Meg & Meg Whitman Barnstorm Together Up Central Valley
SACRAMENTO, Calif., June 6 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Calling herself "the monarch of the people," satire celebrity Queen Meg of California -- along with local nurses and everyday Californians -- will hold welcome parties and press conferences to greet Meg Whitman in the Central Valley, who will be there to sequester herself with former Governor Pete Wilson, GOP political insiders, and hand-picked audiences at events Sunday.
If Whitman stays true to form she will take no questions from the media at her events. However Queen Meg will be available to answer all questions, including about:
- Her statewide satire "Royal Coronation Tour"
- The Pete Wilson/Meg Whitman anti-immigrant ad being run on Spanish-language radio
- Meg Whitman's proposals to undermine patient safety by cutting the number of nurses
- Meg Whitman's estimated $7 billion in education cuts -- and the irony of holding campaign events at public schools that will suffer from these cuts

Queen Meg will attend the rally as part of her week-long "Royal Coronation" tour through the state, the final act of a widely-covered satire campaign inspired by Whitman's efforts to outspend democracy. The tour, in a dazzling royal chariot, features local nurses rallying for the coronation of the state's monarch and her Wall St. agenda, covered by the www.QueenMeg2010.com website and facebook page.
"Nurses say: Don't buy it," said Geri Jenkins, RN, co-President of the California Nurses Association. "With all the harm that Goldman Sachs has done to Californians, our mortgages and our retirements…now we're expected to hand the state over to the first ex-Goldman Sachs director willing to spend her ill-gotten gains? No wonder she has to hide herself away from the press and away from the public. Unfriendly takeovers are plotted in the boardroom -- not on the campaign trail."
"I could run Goldman Sachs, I can rule California, and I deserve the crown!" countered Queen Meg,

TEXT OF PETE WILSON/MEG WHITMAN AD BEING RUN ON SPANISH-LANGUAGE RADIO:
Aqui esta la publicidad sobre immigrantes que Pete Wilson y Meg Whitman NO QUIEREN QUES USTED OIGA…pero sus amigos de La Associacion de Enfermeras en California creen que usted necesita saberlo.
[Here is the ad about immigrants that Pete Wilson and Meg Whitman don't want you to hear…but your friends at the California Nurses Association think you need to know about.]
Meg Whitman: Don't be fooled by misleading ads, my position on immigration is crystal clear. Illegal immigrants are just that, illegal. I am 100 percent against amnesty for illegal immigrants. Period. As Governor, I will crack down on so-called sanctuary cities like San Francisco who thumb their nose at our laws. Illegal immigrants should not expect benefits from the state of California. No driver's license and no admission to state-funded institutions of higher education. And I'll create an economic fence to crack down on employers who break the law by using illegal labor.
Pete Wilson: This is former Governor Pete Wilson. I know how important it is to stop illegal immigration and I know Meg Whitman. Meg will be tough as nails on illegal immigration. She'll fight to secure our border and go after sanctuary cities.

NOTE: On April 23, 2010 Queen Meg filed an official coronation initiative with the Legislative Analyst's Office at the State Capitol that reads:
"In honor of her $150 million campaign treasury, the people of California do hereby crown Meg Whitman as Queen Meg of California. Her husband Griffith Harsh IV is crowned Prince Griffith of Palo Alto, and the Whitman-Harsh royal motto shall be 'Healthcare for the nobility, Education for the few, Prisons for all.'"
This is believed to be the first-ever ballot measure that aims to install state-based royalty. Queen Meg anxiously awaits to hear back from the LAO.
