Quick Base Named a Leader by Independent Research Firm in Inaugural Report on Low-Code Development Platforms for Business Users
2017 Report positions Quick Base as a leader, noting the platform's differentiated rating in support and governance
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Oct. 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Quick Base, the platform for app-enabled business, today announced it was named a Leader in The Forrester New Wave™: Low-Code Platforms For Business Developers, Q4 2017. As Forrester's first-ever deep-dive on the use of low-code platforms specifically by business developers, this report highlights the growing need among everyday workers for technologies that allow them to solve their own business challenges.
According to another Forrester report, the low-code movement is expected to be worth $3.8 billion this year1. As the industry has matured, Forrester notes there is delineation occurring between platforms catering to IT and professional developers, and platforms like Quick Base aimed at line-of-business users with little to no coding experience, creating a new market segment.2
The Forrester Wave report identified 13 vendors for inclusion in its first Wave on platforms for business users. The report assessed each vendor on ten criteria and Quick Base was the only vendor to be rated as differentiated in as many as eight criteria. This includes: startup experience, data management, reporting and analysis, support and governance, market approach, vision, roadmap and cloud platform attributes.
The evaluation also found that Quick Base:
- Offers rich startup experiences and strong data management. "Quick Base provides plenty of data power made accessible by well-designed tools and automation. The vendor offers free entry points for novices to experts, backed by ample help and resources," reported Forrester.3
- Enables business pros build everyday data apps. "Quick Base allows business pros to build and sustain everyday data-intensive apps. People currently use tedious spreadsheets and desktop databases; Quick Base gives them more power and runs apps on a managed scalable platform," according to the report.4
- Provides differentiated support and governance capabilities: In addition to Quick Base's centralized customer success program to help organizations get the most value from their app deployments, the platform also allows for role-based permissions and controls, ensuring the data within the apps always remains secure but accessible to the right parties. Quick Base also recently announced it is HIPAA compliant, with plans to achieve additional certifications in the near future.

We rewarded simple and direct developer experiences and products that are easy to access and adopt, requiring sales engagements at the customer's discretion. Further, we gave higher scores to products that can address multiple use cases," wrote Forrester analyst John Rymer, in the report.5
