SAN ANTONIO, TX, Sept. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - (PINKSHEETS:SMKG) President Bruce Baillio announced today that the company has signed an agreement as a principal involving three other companies, including The GoodNetwork System Co., Ltd., creator of the L.E.A.P. Learning System, to provide a minimum of 100,000 prepaid cards per year in a 5-year project to introduce "real world" financial education modules to over 20 million school children in The GoodNetwork's group of affiliated schools. The agreement calls for an initial order of 20,000 prepaid cards with additional orders of 25,000 cards every 90 days. The first schools to receive the innovative program will be international and private schools in Thailand with a combined student enrolment of over 1.8 million students. The learning module combines a prepaid debit card with a learning module about credit and financial responsibility.

In the new agreement SmartCard Marketing Systems Inc. (PINKSHEETS:SMKG) is named as the exclusive provider of prepaid debit cards and payment platform solutions for the worldwide expansion of the financial learning module. The GoodNetwork plans to begin rolling out the program also in the United States by the end of 2010 which will be significant to all parties included. The program is designed so that at the completion of the Financial Responsibility module will allow the student to receive a prepaid debit card. Cash rewards for extra-curricular learning and community service are paid to the students through their prepaid card. Parents, schools and corporate sponsors provide the money for the rewards to the students.
