Radioee.net - A Nomadic, Multilingual, Artist-Run Radio Station - Presents AGUAS ALTAS

MIAMI, April 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Radioee.net -- a nomadic, multilingual, online radio station exploring mobility themes-- will host a live broadcast event this weekend exploring rising tides and the effects of sea level rise from a boat traveling the Miami waters.

This episode, entitled AGUAS ALTAS, will be transmitted via internet from a boat navigating the Miami River and South Florida bays and canals. The floating station will dock at ports, islands, keys, and sites of infrastructure and exchange. The broadcast will consider the impending impacts of sea level rise: How will ecological, economic, and infrastructural systems fare as climate effects sink in? What are the destinies of cities and species as the seas overtake the shores?

AGUAS ALTAS will feature live interviews with sea level rise experts and informants, sound samples and clips from Miami archives on development and water planning, and new tracks by local musicians. Topics include sewage infrastructure, Turkey Point Nuclear Power Plant, the utopian communities of Islandia and Stiltsville, the People's Climate March, urban depopulation, climate science, and ocean biology. This radioee.net broadcast will be in English and Spanish, and, as always, will focus on language integration and wordplay.

Radioee.net hosts nomadic, multi-lingual, online radio broadcast events on themes of mobility: transportation, migration and climate transformation. Each broadcast event is conducted in at least two languages and is often transmitted while on the move. Radioee.net is a collaborative project by Argentinian artist Agustina Woodgate, designer Sebastian Bellver, and collaborator Hernan Woodgate, and curator Stephanie Sherman. 3000+ listeners typically tune in for radioee.net broadcast events. Radioee.net podcasts will be launched in Fall 2017.
