Radisson Blu Biarritz Undergoes Refurbishments

The Radisson Blu Biarritz has announced it is to have a new deco ambiance on two floors to refresh the look of the hotel. Mrs. Valérie de Tilly, an interior designer from IGLOO Architectures Cabinet, has created a new look that reveals the beauty of the rooms.

The designer, who works with individuals as well as hospitality professionals on renovation projects or new constructions, provided a specific and personalised design to make the project unique.

The project brief was to make a "soft refurbishment" to more than 60 rooms at hotel Biarritz the while keeping elements of the existing rooms in place. The challenge was to change the perception of the room; modernise it and make it unique. To this end, the designer decided to create a contemporary and decorative "event".

The approach was developed by the hotel's managers and Mrs. de Tilly and the aim was to reveal each rooms' advantages and underline the whole with new qualitative ornaments. At the Radisson Blu, rooms are spacious, luminous and functional. Moreover, most of the rooms offer a very beautiful view of the ocean. Naturally, these advantages have oriented the project, with the profile of clients staying at the hotel also being an important factor since the decoration must please leisure individuals as well as business groups.

The objective of the designer was to add to touch of art and poetry to each room, outline the escape the ocean offered and highlight the views of the beautiful Basque houses. For that, Mrs. de Tilly utilised sparse light tones, to create a graphic alcove that wraps around the bed and the whole length of the room.

The main part of the room also features light colours and this neutrality is widely enhanced by subtle materials on plaid blankets, curtains and seats. Tones have been designed to echo the colours of the carpets on each floor. To finish and underline this look, refined decorative cushions were added to the rooms.

The recent refurbishment encapsulates the new ideas and projects that are put forward by the general manager of the hotel in Biarritz each year. After the renovation of the meeting rooms, Onyx restaurant, the installation of a removable roof at the Transat Café restaurant last year and the implementation of a new concept at the spa, this year it is the turn of the rooms refurbishment in order to answer to the expectations of the hotel's guests.
